CropLife America’s Statement After the Senate Agriculture Committee Failed to Advance the 2026 Farm Bill
August 6, 2026Arlington, Va. — CropLife America (CLA) released the following statement after the Senate Agriculture Committee recessed the August 6 farm bill markup without advancing a bill.
“CropLife America is disappointed that the Senate Agriculture Committee was unable to advance the farm bill today. Every day without a farm bill creates more uncertainty for the farmers who work tirelessly to feed our country.
“We were pleased to see that Sen. Booker’s amendment to reverse the Supreme Court’s recent decision in the Monsanto v. Durnell case was voted down by the Committee. CropLife America will continue to educate policymakers on the importance of the federal government’s careful and consistent science-based regulation of pesticides.
“We encourage lawmakers to put farmers first and work together to advance a farm bill before October 1.”
