CropLife America Welcomes Progress on the 2024 Farm Bill
ARLINGTON, VA – Last week, Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA-15) each released their five-year Farm Bill proposal summaries. CropLife America (CLA) was pleased with the release of the proposals but recognizes more work is needed for bipartisan support before the deadline this September.
“CLA and its members are encouraged by the proposals but also acknowledge that effort will need to be deployed before the 2018 Farm Bill expires on September 30,” said Alexandra Dunn, CLA’s president and CEO. “The Farm Bill is vital to the nation’s growers, as well as our entire food system, covering titles that address nutrition assistance, conservation, agricultural research, and more. The 2024 Farm Bill has the potential to positively benefit growers and support the progress the agriculture industry has made in innovation and sustainability on the farm.”
“With a varied workforce, changing climate, and a volatile trade landscape, the 2024 Farm Bill must represent the experiences and realities of growers across the country,” Dunn continued. “CLA, along with myriad other stakeholders, is ready to work with decisionmakers in the House and Senate to continue to ensure a stable, vibrant, and modern agricultural system that benefits growers and consumers.”
