CropLife America Looks Forward to Working With Haaland

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier today, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Deb Haaland as the next Secretary of the Department of the Interior (DOI). Secretary Haaland has previously stressed the importance of working cooperatively with all stakeholders on interagency processes directed by Congress.

“CropLife America congratulates Secretary Haaland on her appointment and we look forward to working with her. Maintaining the health of our nation’s ecosystems is made possible through the use of pesticides, whether it is controlling noxious and invasive plants or managing critical habitats for threatened and endangered species,” said Chris Novak, CLA’s President and CEO.

“As DOI continues to navigate the interagency process of reviewing pesticides per the Endangered Species Act, as laid out by Congress in the 2018 Farm Bill, we hope to work with the Secretary to find solutions that will protect threatened and endangered species and their habitats, while maintaining a science-driven, risk-based regulatory process.”
