CropLife America Statement on House Removal of Key Pesticide Provisions in 2026 Farm Bill
April 30, 2026ARLINGTON, VA — CropLife America (CLA) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to remove several key pesticide provisions prior to passage of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (farm bill).
“CropLife America appreciates the House passing the farm bill, but is disappointed that several key pesticide provisions were removed prior to passage. Much of the opposition to these provisions stems from significant misinformation about their purpose and impact, often advanced by groups that do not share a stake in the success of American farmers.
“These provisions are essential to enabling farmers to effectively manage weeds, pests, and diseases, maintain productivity, and remain competitive in a global marketplace. Their omission will contribute to higher food costs for consumers, reduced availability, and decreased domestic production — undermining U.S. food security and the strength of the agricultural supply chain,” said CLA President and CEO Alexandra Dunn. “We strongly urge the Senate to restore and maintain these critical provisions as it now considers the legislation.”
