Publication: Responsible Crop Protection

March 9, 2026

On March 9, CropLife America, its members, and several academics introduced Responsible Crop Protection (RCP) as a science-based framework for managing pests while supporting global food security, environmental protection, and economic viability in a recent peer-reviewed publication. The paper emphasizes that crop protection tools, including pesticides, biological controls, plant breeding, and precision technologies, play a critical role in preventing crop losses and sustaining agricultural productivity. The authors define RCP using three core principles: pest management must be effective, safe for people and the environment, and economically viable for farmers and consumers.
